불러봐라”고 요구했지만
우리 어찌 부를 수 있으랴,
야훼의 노래를
이국 땅에서!
예루살렘아, 내가 만일 너를 잊는다면,
내 오른손이 말라버릴지어다.

내가 만일 예루살렘을
나의 가장 큰 기쁨 위에 두지 않는다면,
내 혀가 입천장에 붙어버릴지어다.
야훼여, 잊지 마소서.
예루살렘이 떨어지는 날,
에돔 사람들이 뇌까리던 말,
“쳐부숴라, 바닥이 드러나게 헐어버려라”.
파괴자 바빌론아,
네가 우리에게 입힌 해악을
그대로 갚아주는 사람에게 행운이 있을지라.
네 어린 것들을 잡아다가
